Wanted to go for the rustic feel of a traditionally doomed affair. The themes of war and the military are especially important for me as my father was in the military and Ray, who this album is dedicated to, wanted very much to be in the military despite his health issues. Knowing that the doctors had not given him much time to live, he still managed to make me fall in love with him.
